Gaming on a Mac is not what Apple is historically known for. However, with Apple delving into the fledgling virtual and augmented reality space, some traditional game interfaces and not so traditional interfaces (think HTC wands or Valve's knuckle controllers) now need to be supported on macOS to reap the VR/AR benefits to their fullest.
To ready you for some amazing VR pilot games such as Eve: Valkyrie that utilize a traditional game Xbox game controller, we're here to show you how to connect one to your Mac! In the past this method only applied to the Xbox 360 controller, but the latest version of the software you'll be using also now supports the Xbox One controller.
How to download and install the drivers
We're assuming that you already own a wired Xbox controller, but if you're needing to buy, a standard controller is about $50. You'll need to connect it to your Mac using a microUSB cable which, sadly, isn't included. If you buy a third-party wired controller you won't have to worry about this.
Next, follow these steps.
- Launch Safari.
- Navigate to https://github.com/360/Controller/360Controller/releases.
- Download the latest release of the 360Controller driver. As of this writing, the latest release is 0.16.5.
- Go to your Downloads folder in Finder.
- Double-click the 360Controllerinstall_*.dmg file.
- Double-click the Install360Controller.pkg that pops up in Finder.Experienced in the successful treatment of thousands of patients for pain, they explain how to take MSMhow much, when, with what foods, and in what formto relieve pain in its many varieties, including: • Degenerative arthritis• Chronic back pain• Chronic headache• Muscle pain• Fibromyalgia • Tendintis and bursitis• Carpal tunnel syndrome• TMJ• Post-traumatic pain and inflammation• Allergies• and more. How to connect your Xbox 360 controller
Once you've installed the drivers, you'll now logically see that there are No devices found, since we have yet to physically connect the game controller to the Mac.
(BTW, those 3-digit style numbers beginning with -5 or -05 always belonged to items from the Travel and Business lines - any HANDBAGS with serial numbers where the style number starts with -05 such as H4B-0532 are counterfeit). Check my coach bag serial number.
- Plug in your controller to your Mac. If you have a current model MacBook or MacBook Pro, you'll need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
- Click OK when the System Extension Blocked warning message pops up.
- Go into System Preferences via the dock or menu.
- Click Security & Privacy.
- Under the General tab click the Lock at the bottom left.

Your Xbox wired controller should now be connected!
Final thoughts
I am super stoked about developers climbing aboard the VR/AR hype train. As a mere consumer of VR, I can only hope for more and more creative minds to get on board. If you're a VR/AR developer, or even better yet, a macOS VR/AR developer, what other ways can Apple help promote virtual reality on their platform? Let us know in the comments!

FranticRain released this May 13, 2019 · 4 commits to modern-rewrite since this release
This release requires macOS 10.11 or later.
This is an early release of a modern rewrite for this driver. It updates the driver to the modern standard and re-implements wireless controller support. If you find any regression in the driver, make sure to make an issue and specifically mention that you are using this version of the driver.
Alpha 3 adds wireless controller support and should fix issues on macOS versions 10.11, 10.12, and 10.13
The move to 1.0.0 is an attempt to move this driver to proper semantic versioning in conjunction with the modern update. It does not imply any level of completeness.

This is an early release of a modern rewrite for this driver. It should exactly match the functionality of the existing driver. So wireless controllers are still not supported at this time, but your wired controllers should work exactly as intended. It looks like the hang on boot that some users were experiencing was caused by the Xbox One controller Bluetooth support hooks that had been added to the driver. In order to resolve those issues, all Bluetooth support has been removed from the driver. Simply put, if you are using the controller via Bluetooth, the driver won't do anything for you. Please do not install older versions of the driver in order to get the force feedback over Bluetooth support and then post an issue about your computer hanging on boot.
In addition, a variety of new devices have been added and some minor touch ups were made to Xbox One racing wheel support. Currently, we still do not support the Xbox Adaptive controller, but we are actively exploring support for it.

The guide button on Xbox One S-era (Bluetooth-capable) controllers now works properly as a button, instead of a permanent switch! Also, Force feedback is back! Rumble on. Speaking of which, rumble options for Xbox One controllers have been fixed, so you can rumble the triggers only, or the triggers and the main motors in unison if you want! Whatever floats your boat. And good news, all of the settings changes you make in the preference pane will now actually be saved. Settings bugs have been vanquished and now you won't have to check 'Pretend to be an Xbox 360 Controller' every time you reboot your computer. There are some other under the hood fixes that will probably go un-noticed, but the main Readme and the text during installation have gotten a little spring cleaning, so keep an eagle eye out for that.
